News - Swift - Australian Sage Distributor
A recent visit to Williams Soaring and it's owner Rex Mayes , resulted in Swift Avionics becoming the Australian Sage agent. These instruments are mechanically a piece of art. There are so few moving parts, it's amazing. This instrument devised in the 70's by gliding legend Will Scheumann, use a taut wire mechanism to suspend the vario 'needle'. Now, with audio included, all Sage lovers have had their prayers answered !

Flarm have released firmware V4.07. V4.03 Flarms are still compatible with latest Flarms, but we have noticed that there are some changes with how your Flarm might operate on the ground. Static targets may NOT be visible when using V4.07

TR-DVS - FLARM / OzFLARM compatable speech reporting system. The TR-DVS is an audio annunciator for the FLARM system. This unit will anounce FLARM messages, like nearest aircraft, collision warnings or obstacles ( requires OzFLARM to be updated with a suitable user database ). Announcements are made by a female friendly voice giving aircraft , bearing in clock direction ( i.e 12 o\'clock , 6 o'clock etc ) height and distance. Different levels of alarm have different sounds or chimes. This system allows full eyes out of cockpit operation and is suitable for gliders, motor gliders and other powered aircraft. Additional to flarm announcements there are undercarriage, and low battery as well as a spare user input ( nose hook release, motor extended etc ). The system can drive both a speaker and headset. It is designed to have your radio and vario connect through it, this allows you to use the volume pot to vary the audio. Options for muting and delayed voice alerting are configurable so as to allow your prefered mix of audio. A removable SD card ( Secure Digital memory card like in you digital camera ) allows you to externally configure DVS via your P.C. Also, DVS records IGC data as well, allowing you to remove and view your flight at the end of the day. We recommend DVS as a serious option. We recommend DVS for tugs as well as it provides some very usefull features ( voice alerting and IGC download ).

Optional wiring harness and plug in PCB is $40.00 plus GST and no freight if included with DVS purchase.The standard wiring to DVS without this module is via a DB-15 plug.
